The appointment of residents to one of the chief resident positions must be approved by The Dean Associate in writing before they are effective. The collective agreement between UBC and uBC Faculty Association is the legal document to protect your rights and regulate your work as employees of UBC. Its terms are negotiated between the university administration and the faculty association and are in effect until a new agreement is ratified. It regulates a lot of the conditions of your work at UBC. The employees of Point Grey Campus as trades, food and hospitality services, technicians and research assistants, as well as in various positions covered by schedule A. CUPE 116`s CUPE 116 agreement, also represents aquatic Centre staff under a separate collective agreement. (C) The Committee will meet and do everything in its power to reach mutual agreement on this issue before it. The conditions of Extended Learning faculty, librarians and program directors are governed by UBC guidelines and, where appropriate, by the collective agreement between UBC and the faculty association. A resident summoned to appear is placed on leave for the time required for judicial service. During this leave period, all benefits of the agreement will continue to be put in place and will continue to be paid on a regular basis. The resident hands over to the employer all the fees of witnesses or jurors received under the subpoena, provided that they do not exceed the resident`s normal salary for the duration of the leave. If the occupier receives a fee that goes beyond his regular payment, the occupier keeps the money. In the absence of an informal solution, RDBC, on behalf of its members, or the employer on behalf of the Residency program, or individually within 10 days of the resolution`s adoption, may refer Julie Nichols or any other person for consensual arbitration for mutual consent. The party who brings the matter to the arbitrator ensures that the other party is notified. In January 2020, the UBC and Faculty Association negotiating teams agreed on a new contract for the period from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022. A compendium of the agreement has also been published. 5.04 Notwithstanding section 5.03, the parties will meet to discuss the resident`s employment status when a resident is placed on leave from a residency program.
If the parties are unsure of the resident`s employment within 30 days of the start of the leave, the resident`s employment is terminated. The resident remains on the salary list during the 30-day trial. If the resident decides to terminate him, he receives severance pay under Article 05.
